The Saints started the new year with a dramatic home victory against Bath Rugby at Franklin’s Gardens. Fly-half Fin Smith played a pivotal role, contributing to all four of Northampton’s tries and keeping the scoreboard ticking. The game was decided in the dying moments, with Smith landing a crucial last-minute penalty to snatch the win. This victory ended Bath’s six-game winning streak and boosted Northampton’s hopes of securing a Premiership playoff spot.

However, the French side mounted a strong comeback, eventually overturning the deficit to win 45-35. Despite the defeat, Northampton managed to secure a bonus point, which could prove crucial in their hopes of progressing further in the competition.
